Daniël Arends
Caught, Honest and a Talent for Confusion
Daniël Arends was born in 1979 in Jakarta and grew up in Bussum. During his studies at the Kleinkunstacademie, he discovered his passion for cabaret and was part of the cabaret group Vier Gasten. Later in 2003, he joined the Comedytrain. In 2006, he wins both the jury and audience prize at the Camaretten cabaret festival. Since then, he has become an indispensable fixture on stage, distinguishing himself with his wit, sharp honesty, and talent for creating confusion.
In addition to cabaret, he also played one of the main roles in the film Bro's Before Ho's in 2013 and was team captain on Dit was het nieuws in 2015 and 2021. In 2021, Daniël makes history by becoming the first comedian ever to tour with two different shows in one evening. This proved to be a success, and now he does the same with the double bill High Class Bitch and Had ik maar nooit zo aardig gedaan, which is again a great success, as the Volkskrant writes: "In his wonderfully beautiful double bill, Daniël Arends separates authenticity from bullshit."
