Veldhuis en Kemper

Remco Veldhuis and Richard Kemper have been performing together on stage as cabaret duo Veldhuis and Kemper for years. In 1997 they are introduced to each other by a mutual friend who is fed up with both of their separate pestering about "making a cabaret performance." Both come from the TV and advertising world, but in 1999 Remco and Richard gather courage and give their first performance in the small hall of the Concertgebouw (now PHIL) in Haarlem. That same year they finish second at the Cameretten, after Marc-Marie Huijbregts. Not long after, in 2002, they premiere their first full-length program Half zo Echt. The accompanying debut album, featuring among others Ik wou dat ik jou was, went gold and received an Edison for Best Small Coast/Listening Song.

Veldhuis and Kemper are always themselves on stage with beautiful songs and hilarious stories. Their latest performance 'Kunnen het niet laten' was also full of recognizable, gritty, hilarious but also touching moments.
