Club Kenau is terug met een muzikale zomerkomedie

This summer, a beloved Haarlem tradition returns: the family performance on the forecourt of the Stadsschouwburg. Club Kenau presents an energetic production about the myth of the inventor of the printing press in the medieval city of Haarloheim: The Hero of Haarloheim.

In this quintessentially Haarlem family production, Club Kenau brings the legend of the inventor of the printing press, Haarlem native Coster, to life with live rock music and absurd humor. Under the reign of regent Walewei, all writings of Haarloheim are confiscated. Minstrels no longer have sheet music, bakers no longer have recipes, children no longer have bedtime stories, all fantasy seems to disappear from the city.

Walewei's sister Marianne refuses to accept this and devises a brave trick to save the stories of Haarloheim. Meanwhile, a knight arrives with his squire, desperately searching for a true heroic deed. When Coster comes up with a revolutionary invention, there suddenly seems to be hope for the stories of Haarloheim.

The Hero of Haarloheim is a sparkling and rocking summer comedy for young and old, full of shrill guitars, knights, bailiffs and of course a hero.

Club Kenau

In 2019, Emma van Muiswinkel, Bart Sietsema and Jasper van Hofwegen created their first Christmas production for the Stadsschouwburg with Hemels Haarlem, and during the lockdown in 2021 their first summer production KENAU followed. This marked the birth of "Club Kenau", which has since produced six successful Haarlem summer productions.
