Platform for theater and music talent
Talent in theater and music gets a platform with us through various initiatives. Our own summer productions have been a great success, with now five editions on the square in front of the City Theater. Additionally, we offer music talents the chance to present themselves in the PHIL through formats such as Dutch Classical Talent and Keys to the Future.
Kleintje Cabaret: an opportunity for cabaret talent
To also provide emerging cabaret talents a place in Haarlem, we collaborate with Schuur on the series Kleintje Cabaret. This initiative gives young comedians a springboard to present themselves to a wider audience and gain experience in a professional setting.
Summer production in the open air
Together with our house company Club Kenau, we offer young talents in theater and music a platform during our summer production in the open air.
Talent hunt
Together with youth organization Triple ThreaT, we organize Next Up annually, a talent hunt for Haarlem youth aged 12 and older. In addition to providing a platform, we guide these young talents at the start of their careers in the music world. With the expertise available within PHIL regarding the business side of the music industry, we help them realize their dreams.
Keys to the Future
We work closely with the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Under the title Keys to the Future, conservatory students from the piano department have the opportunity to refine their education with a performance in our venues.
PHIL Café: learning place for students
In the PHIL Café, we have a series on a number of Sunday mornings in which students from the Conservatory Haarlem perform. This provides them with a valuable learning experience and contributes to their professional development.
Dutch Classical Talent and Popronde
A fixed part of our program is the series Dutch Classical Talent, in which young, talented musicians gain experience on the concert stage. Additionally, we participate in the Popronde, where we provide (Haarlem) pop talent a platform and give them the opportunity to further develop themselves through more performances.
