Accessible facilities
Everyone is welcome in the City Theatre. We do everything we can to make our building accessible to as many people as possible. On this page, you can read about the current options.
Hard of Hearing
Sound amplifiers are available for the hard of hearing. These can be connected to a hearing aid using a loop, but we can also provide headphones. There are nine sound amplifiers available for reservation when you purchase your ticket. Upon presentation of valid identification, you will receive the necessary equipment at the coat check. We will test whether the equipment works properly with your hearing aid.
For some performances, a live caption service is available. The interpreter types along in real-time with everything said on stage. The text is displayed on a tablet that you receive for use during the performance.
Visuele beperking
Hulphonden zijn welkom in de Stadsschouwburg. Ook zijn er bij al onze voorstellingen gastvrouwen/gastheren aanwezig om bezoekers met een visuele beperking te begeleiden.
Bij sommige theatervoorstellingen verzorgen wij audiodescriptie: een audiobeschrijving door een blindentolk. Via een koptelefoon hoor je de beschrijving wat er op het toneel te zien is, wat de acteurs doen en hoe het decor eruit ziet.
Daarnaast wordt bij sommige voorstellingen een Meet & Feel aangeboden, waarin extra uitleg wordt gegeven over het decor, de personages, de kostuums en andere elementen van de voorstelling.
Disabled Visitors
The Stadsschouwburg is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Disabled toilets are available on the ground floor. There are three disabled parking spaces next to the Stadsschouwburg.
Scooters and walkers cannot be brought into the auditorium. These can be stored in locations designated by staff.
Please contact the Box Office at 023 - 512 12 12 to reserve wheelchair spaces or to indicate that you have mobility difficulties. When attending a performance together, there are options to sit next to each other.
