Uncomfortable truths, clarifying insights and plenty of humor.
Is there anything to laugh about in today's world? Harm Edens – known as a presenter on shows like 'Dit Was Het Nieuws' – thinks so. Optimistic as he is, he uses humor as a weapon to fight for a better world. If we're going down anyway, we might as well do it laughing.
From autumn 2025, Harm Edens will tour the Netherlands with his theatrical lecture 'The State of the World According to Harm Edens'. A performance in which his drive to make the world a more beautiful and enjoyable place takes center stage. Because let's face it, we've all made quite a mess of it. We consume ourselves to death, we tear each other apart on X, we shift to the right and become coarser, wage wars, begrudge each other the light of day and are gradually being replaced by AI that, through its enormous energy consumption, is destroying our planet even further. Is there still hope?
In an upbeat tone and with plenty of humor, Harm takes people through the absurdity of our collective behavior and shows them how things can be different and better, without losing the fun. Because that is the core of Harm's existence: do everything with pleasure. "It will be an evening full of uncomfortable truths, illuminating insights and above all plenty of humor. Because if nothing else remains, we might as well laugh our way into the abyss together."
