Jakop Ahlbom (Sweden, 1971) came to the Netherlands in the early nineties, where he studied mime at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Upon graduating in 1998, he received the Top Naeff Prize for most promising student. His choreographic talent stood out, as did the poetic moments he created and the bravura, energy and physical strength he brought out in his performers. For over two decades now, he has been developing his own distinctive body of work featuring surreal and physical performances that astound audiences.
