"Extremely precise timing, gripping dance, breathtaking movement patterns."
The visual spectacle of Jakop Ahlbom Company was once described by De Telegraaf as physical, absurdist theatre with a touch of illusionism. With the melancholic love drama 'Unseen', the ensemble once again adds another gem to its string of magnificent productions such as 'Lebensraum', 'Horror' and 'Knock-Out'.
We see an unhappy woman who cannot shake off the past and a husband who feels frustrated and lonely. The arrival of a silent burglar, who spends nights in empty houses, puts their relationship under further strain and makes them realize what truly matters. 'Unseen' is inspired by, among others, the Korean film 'Bin Jip' and with its physical, poetic and humorous presentation, Ahlbom once again demonstrates his fascination with elusive realities. "He is a master at creating delightful, often slightly surreal images that portray humanity in all its imperfection." (NRC Handelsblad)
