In this story, young Jochem and the traveler Gustav meet each other at the inn of a small village on the Swampy Heath. Gustav is on his way to his great love in a distant land and tells Jochem passionately about his adventures. When he leaves, Jochem helps him cross the dangerous Swampy Heath.
A few years later, Gustav returns to the village. No longer as an adventurer, but as the greedy baron Highmood. He has changed since he discovered that gold can be found in the Swampy Heath. Everything must make way for this: adventure, his great love, nature, and Jochem. Will the baron destroy the heath to satisfy his hunger for gold? Will Jochem intervene in time to save his village and everything around it?
