In 'Girls & Princes' writer Don Duyns gives the stories from Annet Schaap's book 'The Girls' – known for bestsellers such as 'Lampje' and 'Krekel' – his own willful twist. In his brand new and surprising adaptation we see girls with their own dreams, unfulfilled desires, annoying little princes and nasty tricks. Life is no fairy tale, that's what they discover in this production.
What do you do when you're matched with a money-grubbing king, a frog that can't change shape, or a spoiled little prince? 'Maidens & Princes' shows what it's like to grow up in a world full of expectations, especially your own. With sparkling music by Gábor Tarján, directed by Monique Corvers and featuring a percussionist, a violist and six singers from the Dutch Bach Society.
