A dryly comic performance full of absurdity and unexpected poetry
Everyone gets older, but not everyone grows up. The Arkel brothers clearly do. At least, they're working on it. Their father, the minister, has retired and now it's their turn to become someone. Someone who doesn't doubt everything so much. Who doesn't have to constantly outdo his brother. Someone you find yourself addressing with "you" without even noticing.
Jeroen and Martijn van Arkel are brothers, theater makers and finalists of the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival 2025. Both studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht: Jeroen as an actor, Martijn as a writer. In their first full-length production Say You they join forces. The result is a dryly comic performance full of absurdity and unexpected poetry. A search by two completely different brothers for each other, for what it means to be a man, for the best juice centrifuge and something to believe in.
Kleintje Cabaret: young comedytalent on stage
This performance is part of the successful series in collaboration with de Schuur, where emerging cabaret, comedy, and stand-up talent take the stage. These disarming debutants, accomplished singers, and festival prize winners guarantee an evening full of humor and self-mockery. Kleintje Cabaret takes place in de Schuur and is curated by Stadsschouwburg.
