Gelukkig Maar

In the tragicomic performance FORTUNATELY THOUGH, Myrte Siebinga plays a colorful palette of characters who at first glance seem to have nothing to do with each other, yet all struggle with the same thing: a life that turned out very differently from what they had imagined.

From a perfectionist toddler to a dog trainer with too little authority, from a teacher who craves the confirmation of a glitter 3D sticker to a philosophizing bouncer. With razor-sharp precision, she dissects our ridiculous patterns of expectation and the inevitable disappointments that follow. You laugh until it hurts, but deep down you know it too: this is about me. About failed relationships, unsuccessful career moves and that uncomfortable feeling that everyone understands life better than you do. Take comfort – they don't.

Myrte's interest in and perspective on humanity with all its discomforts is as broad as her talent, and it delivers a delightful evening of "sublime theater" (quote NRC). Laughing until you cry and crying until you laugh in an evening to see yourself reflected in someone else's discomfort or an ideal escape attempt from 'real life'. But especially for lovers of pure comedy there is: Myrte Siebinga, FORTUNATELY THOUGH.

"Siebinga's comic talent is phenomenal"
