Introdans
"At ENERGY the motor of the dancing bodies shifts into overdrive"
In the autumn, Introdans brings energy by the bucketful to the theaters, an evening full of dynamism and dance pleasure. In 'ENERGY', the company presents two existing choreographies and two world premieres by choreographers with Mediterranean roots. The result: a vibrant program in which expressivity, musicality and contemporary dance language come together.
Sofia Nappi's theatrical and playful 'Tagadá' is danced to music including Daft Punk. She uses the Italian fairground ride tagadá as a metaphor for life, in which we sometimes go in circles without having control. This work is followed by premieres from Andonis Foniadakis and Aristide Rontini.
In the cheerful and energetic 'Flabbergast' from 2002, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano embraces his Spanish roots. The dancers take you into the atmosphere of the fifties and dance to the rousing rhythms of Mexican composer Juan García Esquivel. The ideal finale to an evening that will energize the audience completely.

Sofia Nappi – Tagadá | 2023
In 2021 Sofia Nappi received the Introdans Partner Award at the RIDCC. "That's where it started. Her work is very distinctive and theatrical, it communicates so well" according to Roel Voorintholt. This season Introdans presents her successful group creation Tagadá, featuring music by Daft Punk among others. Nappi uses the Italian carnival ride tagadá as a metaphor for life. Sometimes we just go round and round, with no control whatsoever. We balance between uncertainty, fear, joy and euphoria. In that unpredictability of life, our connection with the people around us is an anchor.
Andonis Foniadakis - new creation | 2026
Foniadakis is back with a new creation specially made for the Introdans ensemble. Extreme flexibility and uninhibited energy are the hallmarks of his work. Foniadakis empowers the dancers completely; lively and infectious.
Aristide Rontini – new creation | 2026
Making and thinking inclusively is the foundation for Aristide Rontini. This Italian choreographer runs his own company that places accessibility and all kinds of physical realities at the center. From his own experience (his arms are disproportionately formed), Rontini knows how important it is to set a new standard in dance and beyond. At the invitation of Roel Voorintholt, Rontini creates a new work for ENERGY. "We are curious to see what will emerge. In any case, nothing obvious" according to Roel Voorintholt.
Gustavo Ramírez Sansano – Flabbergast | 2002
In the stunning choreography Flabbergast, Sansano embraces his Spanish roots. Artistic director Roel Voorintholt loves the lightness and the wink of Flabbergast. Flabbergast is expressive and musical. The dancers take you into the atmosphere of the fifties and dance to the rhythm of Latin American music. They explore their desires, identity and especially each other. Combined with the rousing music of Mexican composer Juan García Esquivel, this creation is the ideal finale to an energetic evening.
