A musical, humorous and virtuoso theatrical tour de force about homelessness and rough sleeping.
With his previous production 'Tofu Cowboy', Steyn de Leeuwe already managed to win over both friends and critics. With 'Moonlight Motel' he raises the bar even higher: "Not only a beautiful title, the production is a jewel", concluded the trade publication Scenes, supported by the Volkskrant: "Impressively performed theatrical crescendo."
Steyn worked two years in homeless shelters and now brings a mind-bending theatrical trip about life on the streets to the stage with boundless energy. This odyssey, told by an antihero, is about success and failure, luck and misfortune, right and wrong, fiction and reality. Apparently sleeping on the street is not so far removed from home. And isn't everyone always searching for a home? In this musical and humorous one-man show, Steyn plays dozens of characters crisscrossing through each other, a virtuoso theatrical tour de force. In the end, he asks himself: where is my home actually? And will he ever find it? Steyn de Leeuwe brings the street to the stage.
