The Sunshine Boys
A moving masterpiece by two comic heavyweights.
They have both been seen in theaters for decades, but Bert Visscher and Martin van Waardenberg have never shared the stage before. 'The Sunshine Boys', Neil Simon's world-famous theatrical classic from 1972, changes that now. The play became an international hit, was successfully adapted for film, and has been performed by countless actors. Following, among others, Mini & Maxi, André van Duin, and Kees Hulst, it is now the turn of these comic greats.
Two variety artists once formed a successful duo. After more than ten years of radio silence, the grumbling seasoned performers are brought together to perform their most famous sketch one last time. But mutual recriminations and pent-up frustrations set the tone. Only when one of them suffers a heart attack do the sharp edges soften. 'The Sunshine Boys' is a comic and touching production about two people who, despite everything, remain inextricably connected to each other for a lifetime.
