A thrilling story about big dreams, wrong choices and fatal consequences.

'The Hour of Truth' is an exciting, new Dutch play, based on a true story that took place in Haaksbergen in the Twente region in 2005. Four friends who work together at a fast food chain devise a bold plan during their night shift: a bank robbery. Because one of them is interning at the bank, they have access to the keys and codes, so what could go wrong? Everything, as it turns out!

The lock turns out to have been replaced and the codes don't work at night. In a last-ditch attempt to salvage their less-than-watertight plan, they head to the bank manager's house to force him to provide the correct codes. But those also only work in the early morning hours. So they wait, through the entire night. What follows is a psychological cat-and-mouse game in which the power dynamics constantly shift and it becomes increasingly unclear who actually has control.

Top actor Stefan de Walle takes the stage with a number of major names from the new generation: Daniël Kolf (winner of the Theo d'Or 2025), Bilal El Aoumari (Golden Calf 2025), Achraf Koutet (known from 'A'dam - E.V.A.' and 'Mocro Maffia' among others) and cabaret phenomenon Donny Ronny, formerly known as Stefano Keizers. The Hour of Truth is a story about big dreams, inequality of opportunity, and the moment you decide to seize a chance, whatever the consequences may be…
