Imagine fluorescent lighting. Imagine a PowerPoint presentation. Imagine a young, professional mother. Imagine a semi-intellectual seminar on recovering from postpartum depression. Imagine an analog synthesizer on wheels. Imagine a musical piece about your baby falling off the couch. Imagine the world collapsing. Imagine too many words. Imagine too much emotion. Imagine too little hope. Imagine hope. What begins as a hallucinating seminar on how to overcome an existential crisis ends in a cathartic immersion in noise.

NOISE
In this intensely gripping performance-opera, born from the urgency to learn how to navigate a world in decay, Club Gewalt asks itself: how can you recalibrate your senses under the constant noise of information predicting the apocalypse? How do we give meaning to a future that doesn't overflow with prosperity?
We live in a time of polycrisis. We are confronted with the resurgence of fascism, the onset of climate crisis, Western complicity in genocide, vegetables and fruit full of PFAS, and our own identities that turn out to be tainted with (internalized) racism, sexism and homophobia. Once we were promised a future of stability and progress; now the systems around us and within us threaten to collapse. The human survival instinct (LION! DANGER! FIGHT OR FLEE! SURVIVE! CELEBRATE!) massively fails when dealing with the complexity of today's problems. Our amygdalas* become enormously overstimulated and we get stuck in an anxious limbo.
Can we learn to accept the collapse of systems as a natural law, without ceasing our resistance to injustice? Can we heal ourselves by, instead of merely naming the crises, also feeling them deeply? Can we finally complete our stress cycles, so we can navigate a world that is burning? Can we fall in love with being human again? And: is this the moment to find God? Because: never waste a good crisis.
